Hey Jonathan, I don't know. I think when I first started with Social Oomph they didn't have link shortening. I actually wrote this post before Social Oomph was slapped by Twitter, and I was using it for all my auto tweets. I just stuck with Bit.ly I think...

Hi Greg, JT here: Just curious, but why wouldn't you just use the link shrinking and tracking feature within Social Oomph? Is there something better about Bitly? Let me know. - JT (Twitter address @jonathantaylore).

Thanks Melanie, yeah most people don't see the power of Twitter because they are dealing with small numbers. It's not until you get the big numbers that you can really gauge what it can do.nnI am now at 520,000 from 10 accounts and it's growing all the time. It gets me traffic I would never get otherwise.nnThanks for your comment, would sure love to find out how you got those clients to Twitter professionally for. I take it they are local businesses or something?nnCheers...n

As a Professional Tweeter, this blog is spot on! I tweet for some 26 accounts currently with over 330,000 followers for their accounts. All at different levels, with clicks to their websites between 500 - 6,000 per month. What you have to offer makes all the difference.nCouple of tips to add on is to be consistent, make friends and have some fun. Don't judge everyone by their profile. You only get 160 characters to put your details in your profile and that's not enough for you to know fully their interests. Everyone is a possible client or friend! Make both on Twitter :-)

I notice you only have under 1,000 followers. It's pretty difficult to judge the effectiveness of Twitter with so small a following. I currently have 520,000 across multiple accounts... do you think I can see patterns emerge with such a large number that is not possible with small numbers?nnEveryday I get around 20 people per day adding me as friends on Facebook because of that one autotweet that I initially send. This is not to mention the retweets from my blog, comments on my blog, leads that go into my funnel and affiliate sales I make.nnTwitter is a direct response mass marketing machine that works by numbers. Just like PPC. Anything else is a waste of time really.

A couple of things: Hootsuite is a much more effective tool with it's own URL shortener like Bit.ly. Great stats, pre-set tweets, manage multiple accounts, etc. In terms iof SocialOOmph, yes that' a great tool but I highly question thevalue of those auto sign-up messages. I never ever look at them because I KNOW there's not an authentic bone in it's body. Yeah, specail ebook or white paper just for me? You shouldn't have. Well, guess what, they didn't. So I think auto replies and auto followers just add to the noise. Just my two cents!
